Director of the California Child Development Programs
Low Income Investment Fund
Candace is the Director of the California Child Development Programs at the Low Income Investment Fund (LIIF), a national community development financial institution (CDFI) that provides capital opportunities for people to lift themselves out of poverty, such as affordable homes, high-performing schools and child care--projects that have high social value but may not have access to the services offered by traditional financial institutions.
Candace oversees the Child Care Facilities Fund, a national award winning program that provides child care facilities development grants and loans, with facilities and business capacity building programs. She has over 20 years of experience in the nonprofit sector directing programs for families that included child care, parent education and support services, serving young children with special health care needs, immigrant families and English language learners. In addition to her role at LIIF, she serves on numerous committees, including the San Francisco Child Care Planning and Advisory Council and the Preschool for All Advisory Committee. Candace was also the founding director who successfully implemented the San Francisco CARES program which encourages the education and retention of the child care workforce. Candace has a B.S. in Business Administration from San Francisco State University.
