Chief of Strategy and Fund Development
San Francisco Unified School District
Don is the SFUSD’s Chief Development Officer and serves as the external face and internal leader of SFUSD's fund development function and efforts. These duties include: the development and execution of a comprehensive fund development strategy; serving as liaison to the SF Mayor's Office; managing the Circle The Schools" program, alongside the San Francisco Education Fund and sf.citi; and as President for Spark*SF Publics Schools, the District's newly formed 501(c)(3) vehicle. Stewarding its' 19-member Board of Directors as they raise funds for targeted priorities anchored to SFUSD's strategic plan and aspirational Vision 2025.
Don is also a current School Board Trustee at The Dunn School, CEO of Rougeaux-MSC, a multi-sector consulting firm, a Host Committee member at Friends of Larkin Street, and a recently appointed San Francisco Court Special Advocate (SFCASA) for foster youth in San Francisco. He also served as a long time Board Member of the Fund for Santa Barbara, Leadership Santa Barbara and the Santa Barbara County Foundation roundtable.
His previous experience within education and leadership also includes being a high school history teacher, a History Department Chair at Dunn School, the Executive Director of Associated Students at UC Santa Barbara, the Vice President of SIMA Corporation, the Senior Consultant for Kenyon Group, the founder and director of University of California Curriculum Integration Institute (UCCI), the Associate Director of UC Undergraduate Admission Freshman Policy in the University of California Office of the President and a Senior Consultant for ConnectEd.
Mr. Daves-Rougeaux received his BA and Teaching Credential from CSU Fresno, his Master of Science in Higher Education Administration and Leadership from Capella University and was a PhD graduate student in US History at UC Santa Barbara.
