Edward D. Reiskin

Ed is the Director of Transportation for the City & County of San Francisco. As head of the SFMTA, he oversees the Municipal Railway (Muni), parking, traffic engineering, bicycle and pedestrian safety, accessibility, and taxi regulation. He manages more than 5,000 employees, a $1 billion annual operating budget, a $3 billion capital budget. The SFMTA is leading the city’s safety efforts through Vision Zero – a goal to eliminate traffic fatalities by 2024 – and efforts to enhance Muni performance and reliability through Muni Forward. He’s overseeing the advancement of major capital projects, such as the Central Subway and the Van Ness Corridor Improvement projects. Mr. Reiskin holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government, a Master of Business Administration degree from New York University's Stern School of Business, and a Bachelor of Science degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
