Training and Capacity Building Work Group
Preamble: We will build our workforce through evidence-based practices and capacity building opportunities that address the needs and concerns of our equity groups with special sensitivity to ethnicity, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, the physically challenged, class, age, and religion. In the OCOF framework, equity groups include American Indian/Native Americans, Asian Americans/Pacific Islanders, Black/African Americans, Latina/Latino within the City and County of San Francisco.
San Francisco will support and promote curriculum that is designed to build capacity and skills in the San Francisco workforce to recognize, understand, support, and provide services to children, youth and families that promote equitable access and opportunities.
San Francisco will come together with a common narrative that states the conditions/social determinants and institutional practices that have contributed to structural, socio-cultural and historical disenfranchisement of San Francisco equity groups.
San Francisco will highlight the strengths, resilience, spirituality and rich culture of its families and communities, and in doing so promote the diversity of the lived experience.
2018 OCOF Training and Capacity Building Retreat
Goal: Create an innovative and sustainable implementation plan for two pillars: A Welcoming City and A Healing City
Objectives: Achieve a shared understanding of Working Group progress to date and develop draft implementation plans for A Welcoming City and a Healing City Training Pillar.
